ENDURA is a quality product from H & R Johnson ( India ), the country's largest & leading tile manufacturer. ENDURA is a vitrified tile manufactured using special non-ferrous clays, processed & fired at ultra high temperatures of 1170-1200 degrees celcius. This process causes the raw materials to fuse and form a compact mass with a low water absorption of less than 0.5%. ENDURA is ideal for landscaping & exterior applications and is virtually weatherproof.

Advantages :
ENDURA tiles have very hard surface ( Mohs hardness of 7+ ). This results into a totally scratch free floor. We normally see that epoxy flooring gets lot of scratches and they look very ugly later. These tiles will look the same after many years.
It has a very high load bearing capacity. It transfers heavy dynamic load very effectively.
These tiles are acid / alkali resistant and full body vitrified. It withstands all concentrated acids except HF, it withstands all bleaching agents, alkaline detergents, chemical attack on floor. These tiles are also very light weight compared to conventional AR bricks. The application method of these tiles is also simple as compared to AR bricks.
The tiles have extremely high abrasion resiatance.
It has high flexural strength & high breaking strength.
The tile is Anti-skid, it is stain resistant and maintenance free and has very long life.
This tile is also fire resistant.
It comes into 12, 15 & 20 mm thick sizes.
These tiles have anti-static properties. The static electricity leads to sparks which could lead to fire hazard. The ENDURA tiles remove the static charge from the surface of the tile & earth it, hence the fire hazard is minimized.
The application / fixing of this tile is also very easy.

Comparison between ENDURA Tiles & AR Bricks

Acid Resistant ( AR ) Bricks

These confirm to IS4457:2007 which are stringent specifications.

These confirm to IS 4860 specifications.

Lowest water absorption (< 0.5%). Acids cannot percolate through the tile body, thereby leading the bedding underneath intact for years.

Water absorption is between 3 to 5 %. High porosity & hence acid or chemical percolation is possible resulting in corrosion of the bedding material underneath.

It is full body vitrified tile with compact mass, high strength. With 12, 15 & 20 mm thick tiles, the overall structural load can be reduced.

AR bricks are ceramic tiles with high porosity & low strength requiring the need for high thickness which results into increased structural load.

Mohs hardness of ENDURA tile is >7 making the surface virtually scratch-proof. Even hardened steel used in trolley etc. cannot scratch the tile.

Mohs hardness of AR brick is @ 5, making it prone to scratches & flaking.

High traction resistance, excellent performance under continuous vehicular traffic without any erosion. Very high breaking strength, suitable for hard wheel trolley movement.

Poor traction resistance, gets scratched and wears off with continuous vehicular traffic movement. High wear & tear on use of hard wheel heavy load trolley movements.

Very high scratch resistance. Mohs scale hardness > 7. Even metals cannot scratch the tiles.

Prone to scratches, Mohs scale hardness 4 - 5.

Highest abrasion resistance, < 144 nm3. Retains aesthetics for a long time.

Low abrasion resistance, leads to wear & tear on continuous use.

Ease of repair & maintenance. Even a single damaged tile can be replaced quickly without affecting the surrounding tiles or without taking a shutdown.

Repair & maintenance is difficult. Repaired area of the floor gives a patchy incongruent look.

These tiles are durable, maintenance free, aesthetical and economical.

Epoxy floorings look attractive on day 1, but very delicate & expensive in long run.
